9 January 2023 – The state of Pahang had recently received a visit from the Department of Commerce Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region to further discuss investment opportunities between the Pahang State Government and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Also introduced in the meeting was the head of the delegation, Mr. Fu Jinming, the Deputy Director-general of the Department of Commerce, Guangxi Autonomous Region.

The diplomatic relation between Guangxi and Malaysia has been established since 1974 and flourished ever since. In 2012, Qinzhou,China and Pahang started its partnership through the collaboration of sister park, Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park (MCKIP) and China-Malaysia Qinzhou Industrial Park (CMQIP). One of the main objectives for the visit is to promote the industrial upgrading of the two parks which are the, further solidifying the collaborations between both the private and public sectors in Malaysia and the People’s Republic of China (PRC).

The insightful meeting also highlighted the China-ASEAN expo that will be held in Nanning in September 2023. The Guangxi delegates are welcoming representatives from the Pahang State Government to attend and explore the potential investment opportunities in China especially Guangxi in order to boost and nourish the economic growth of MCKIP-CMQIP for both countries.
